Walking in the Certainty of His Love
🌿 Walking in the Certainty of His Love
I spoke at church yesterday about renewed hearts. I honestly think if we are truly sorry and really want to be in a relationship with God, He knows our real heart even when we can not be honest with ourselves.
Being good, kind, and thoughtful takes thought. Many people today run on emotions first, thought later.
A lot of that is because we are so damaged by life. I know my PTSD and ADHD and Avoidant disorder make things a lot more complicated for me.
I have often been told You are a smart gal; you will figure it out.
When your brain bypasses logic and runs full steam down the tracks with emotions puffing out of your head, well, honestly, it is hard to think clearly.
That is why every day should start and end with prayer and quiet time with God. Let God lead. Ask him what today should bring. Amen!
1 John 3:24
Those who obey God’s commandments remain in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.
Galatians 1:6-8
I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News
but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.
Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.
Luke 1:36-37
What’s more, your relative Elizabeth has become pregnant in her old age! People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her sixth month.
For the word of God will never fail.”
Romans 5:1-5
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.
Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.
And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Walking in the Certainty of His Love
Hey friend. Take a deep breath and settle in for a moment.
Are you wrestling with doubts or just feeling a bit disconnected today? God’s Word has some beautiful, anchoring truths to steady your heart.
1. The Anchor of Peace
Let’s start with where we stand with God right now. In Romans 5:1-5, Paul reminds us of a staggering truth: “Since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Notice that it doesn’t say you hope to have peace one day if you perform perfectly. You have peace right now. Because of Jesus, you have full access to God's grace. This means when troubles come—and they will—we don’t have to suffer in despair. God uses those hard moments to build our endurance, character, and a hope that will never disappoint us. Why? Because His love has been poured directly into our hearts by the Holy Spirit. You are fundamentally, irreversibly loved.
2. Holding Fast to the Truth
Because that love and grace are so precious, we have to guard them fiercely. In Galatians 1:6-8, Paul gets incredibly passionate. He marvels at how quickly people can be led away from the true Gospel of Christ into a "different gospel"—which is really no gospel at all.
It’s a gentle but firm wake-up call for us today. The world will constantly try to sell you a different gospel. It might tell you that you have to earn God's love, or that you need Jesus plus success, or Jesus plus a perfect reputation. But any message that takes your eyes off the pure, finished work of Jesus is a counterfeit. Hold fast to the truth of who He is.
3. Living It Out
So, how do we know we are staying on the right track? How do we practicalize this faith? 1 John 3:24 gives us a beautiful, comforting litmus test: “The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.”
When you choose to obey God—to love your neighbor, to speak with kindness, to forgive—it’s not to win His affection. It is the natural overflow of Him living inside you! The Holy Spirit inside you is like a quiet, steady internal compass, constantly reassuring you: You belong to Him, and He belongs to you.
4. Nothing is Impossible
Now, look at your life today. Is there a situation that feels completely hopeless? A relationship that seems broken beyond repair? A dream that feels dead?
Listen to the words spoken to Mary in Luke 1:36-37 when she was facing the humanly impossible task of bearing the Son of God. The angel reminded her of her cousin Elizabeth’s miraculous pregnancy in her old age and declared: “For no word from God will ever fail” (or as other translations put it, “With God nothing shall be impossible”).
If God can bring life to a barren womb, and if He can defeat death itself to bring you peace, He can handle whatever you are facing today. No promise of His will ever fail you.
Abba Father Our Lord and Savior, thank You for the absolute certainty of Your love. Thank You that I have peace with You right now, just as I am. Forgive me for the times I listen to the false gospels of this world that tell me I’m not enough. Help me to not be a steaming train through life. Remind me today that nothing is impossible with You. Let Your Holy Spirit fill me with hope, and help me to walk in obedience, resting deeply in the truth that You abide in me.
In Jesus's precious name we pray, Amen.
BELIEVE, OBEY, BE BLESSED AMEN BOBBA ❤️
Love, Penny 💛
