The Seret Power of the Chosen

Proverbs 11:13

“A gossip goes around telling secrets, but those who are trustworthy can keep a confidence.”

Psalms 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”

Psalms 56:9

“My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side!”

John 15:18

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.”

The Secret Power of the Chosen

In a world that feels loud, divided, and increasingly critical, today’s scriptures remind me that true strength is not found in arguing with the world, but in quietly resting in the One to whom I belong.

Jesus warned in John 15:18 that the world may not understand those who follow Him. That “difference” is not something to be ashamed of; it is evidence that I belong to another Kingdom. When I feel misunderstood, overlooked, or even rejected because of my faith, I can remember that Jesus walked this road first.

So how do I live faithfully in a world that pushes against God?

First, I guard my integrity. Proverbs 11:13 reminds me that trustworthy people protect the hearts and stories of others. The world often tears people down through gossip and criticism, but God calls me to be a safe place — someone who covers others with grace instead of exposing them. Spiritual maturity is not found in having the loudest voice, but in having a faithful and gentle heart.

Second, I remember where my help comes from. Psalm 46:1 says God is my refuge and strength, always ready to help in trouble. He is not distant or distracted. When life feels tight, overwhelming, or uncertain, He is already standing in the middle of it with me.

And right now, our battle is the jeep and finances. The jeep has stopped “jeeping,” and honestly, it has been frustrating and inconvenient. Yet even here, I can see God working in ways I might otherwise miss. I have been walking more, and surprisingly, I have already lost five pounds. My knees feel a little better, and I know deep down that I need more discipline in caring for my body.

Sometimes I imagine God gently smiling at me and saying, “I wish you would decide what you really want.” One day I pray for weight loss and healthier habits, and the next day I complain when the very circumstance that pushes me toward those goals appears.

That realization humbles me.

So instead of only praying for my wants, I want to pray for God’s will. Jeep or no jeep. Walking or resting. Plenty or little. I want my life to align with His purpose more than my comfort.

Psalm 56:9 reminds me that the moment I call on God, the tide of battle begins to turn. I do not fight for victory — I fight from victory. God is already ahead of me, already making a way, already holding the solution before I even see it.

The world may feel uncertain, but I am safe in the hands of my Father. He is my refuge, my strength, and my ever-present help.

Prayer

Father God,

Thank You for reminding me that my strength is found in You and not in the approval of the world. Help me to be trustworthy, gentle, and full of integrity. Teach me to guard my words and protect the hearts of others.

Lord, I place our jeep situation, finances, health, and daily struggles into Your hands. Forgive me for the times I resist the very lessons You are trying to teach me. Give me discipline over my body, wisdom in my choices, and peace while I wait on You.

Whether life feels easy or difficult, help me desire Your will above my own comfort. Remind me that You are already standing in the middle of every battle before I even arrive there.

Thank You for being my refuge, my strength, and my faithful Father.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in Heaven,

hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done,

on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Amen.

BOBBA
