The Weaver’s Trust: Yielding Every Thread to God
The Weaver’s Trust: Yielding Every Thread to God
Proverbs 16:8
“Better to have little, with godliness, than to be rich and dishonest.”
Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere…”
Philippians 4:13
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Matthew 5:14
“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.”
Proverbs 16:3
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”
In a world obsessed with speed and success, we often plan our lives with fierce independence. Yet Scripture calls us to a different way—a life where our plans are yielded to the Almighty.
To commit our ways to the Lord is the Hebrew word Galal (גָּלַל), meaning to roll. It paints the image of taking a heavy burden and rolling it completely off your shoulders onto Someone stronger. We do not simply inform God of our intentions; we transfer the entire weight of the process and the outcome into His capable hands. When we galal our work—our families, ministries, careers, and worries—He establishes our thoughts and steadies our steps.
Proverbs 16:8 deepens this truth with the word Mishpat (מִשְׁפָּט), divine justice, balance, and right measure. Better is little with God’s righteous balance than great abundance without it. Heaven values the quality of the soul over the quantity of the storehouse. Integrity always outweighs increase.
Jesus then reminds us that we do not walk this surrendered path alone. In Acts 1:8, He promises Dunamis (δύναμις)—miraculous, explosive power. This is the divine potential of the Holy Spirit within us, ready to be activated for the exact moment we need it.
That power transforms us into Phos (φῶς), the visible light of Matthew 5:14. We become a beacon that makes the truth of God’s kingdom visible to those still wandering in darkness. Our lives themselves begin to testify.
And how do we continue? Through Endynamoō (ἐνδυναμόω) from Philippians 4:13—the continual inward infusion of Christ’s strength. We are not merely given strength once; we are constantly being empowered for every assignment, every burden, and every unexpected fog.
The Weaver
One morning, the village was plunged into a thick, supernatural fog. No one could see the path to the market or the way to the well. Fear settled over the people like the mist itself.
But Elias felt a stirring deep within his chest—a sudden surge of dunamis. It was not his own courage. It was the explosive potential of the Holy Spirit rising within him.
He did not hide in his weaving shop.
Instead, he became the phos of the village.
Christ was endynamoō, infusing Elias with the exact strength he needed to lead others safely through the fog. That day, he did not simply weave thread into tapestry—he wove hearts into unity, courage into fear, and community into something stronger than before.
And in that moment, Elias understood the deeper truth:
His plans were never established when he mastered the thread,
but when he trusted the Master of the Loom.
And perhaps that is the beauty hidden in my own name, Penny—weaver. The Lord has always been using my life to weave hope, light, and truth into the lives around me. I am grateful to have our Triune God not just beside me but residing in me, guiding my thoughts and actions.
Heavenly Father,
Teach us to galal every burden, every plan, and every fear onto Your strong shoulders. Forgive us for the times we cling tightly to the threads of our own understanding. Help us trust the Master Weaver, knowing that every strand of our lives is safe in Your hands.
Fill us with dunamis power, make us phos light, and continually endynamoō us with the strength of Christ for every task You place before us. Let our lives become living tapestries of Your faithfulness, woven with righteousness, justice, and grace.
When the fog of uncertainty surrounds us, let Your Spirit within us rise stronger than our fear. Use us to guide others safely through the darkness by the witness of our faith.
May every thread of our story glorify You.
In Jesus’ precious name we pray, Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
BELIEVE. OBEY. BE BLESSED. AMEN.

Love, Penny 💛
